PR, Advert or Advertorial? …

Should you advertise, submit a press release or go with an advertorial?  To me, each have their own place within the marketing mix and each have their benefits and problems.

Here is some food for thought…

Ads and advertorials allow you to tackle complex issues and messages through words and pictures.  The text you can include can be fairly long allowing you to explain in detail.

A series of adverts or ads accompanied by editorial allow you to drip feed your customers messages on a continual basis.  Therefore keeping your name out there, building up your reputation and being consistent without being too persistent.

You can choose your space within the magazine.  Prime spaces within a printed title will demand a premium price though.

Need help with your advertising and PR?  Research the magazines first, understand the circulation figures, get the media rates, look into the features lists and ask around amongst trusted contacts on their views of the publication.

It’s time to get your name out there!
