Following on from last week’s blog which focussed on 2 low costs ways to increase traffic to your site, which were blogging and social networking, I wanted to look at social networking and online marketing in more detail with you.
So what is social networking and why the buzz about it?
A recent quote I read said that “Social Media has come a long way in the last 2 years and Interactive marketing is no longer revolutionary, it’s crucial. In 2011 companies embracing Social Media could see increase of up to 18% in sales.”
A couple of years ago, we did not know about Twitter and Linkedin, but nowadays, these low cost, fast, effective and proven tools for online marketing have taken over and take up more time and budget from marketing departments than the more traditional tools of advertising and direct mail.
As long as you pitch your blogs, tweets and updates at your relevant target audience/s, you really should be thinking about Social Media. Consider it as a way of networking, but online.
