Who are you selling to?

Sorry to disappoint you, but the answer is very rarely everyone.

Even if you have a product or service that everyone must have, there are many markets with large groups of people.  Known as primary and secondary audiences or target markets, these groups of people have different needs and interests and need to be spoken to and marketed to in subtly different ways.

The marketing media you choose to use to promote and sell to these various groups will also play a large part in the success of any marketing campaign.

Remember AIDA.  AIDA is the purpose or aim of any marketing activity :

raise Awareness
create Interest
create a Desire within the customer and
get the customer to take Action!
